The SunAWARE For Life Curriculum includes four discrete levels (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12) that are aligned with the National Health Education Standards. The four main objectives of the program are to educate participants about the factors that affect UV intensity and skin sensitivity, as well as proper sun protection and skin cancer recognition. CMPF educators provide the SunAWARE curriculum locally in Massachusetts’s schools and nationally in select school districts. Our educators provide teachers worldwide with assistance in curriculum implementation.
The SunAWARE For Life Community Initiative targets key stakeholders as partners in our skin cancer prevention program. CMPF relentlessly strives to develop these partnerships by providing professional education and through acquisition of community project grants. Through these efforts and more, we are able to bring our SunAWARE program to more and more people every year and to sustain these efforts in the community by raising awareness, educating key personnel, and providing resources and support for future programming.
