In May 2017, we were able to partner on an “Outdoor Babyproofing” project with South Shore Medical Center's Department of Pediatrics. The program was designed to provide new parents with vital information about sun protection for infants and a sun protective garment. The SunAWARE bookmark and a SnapperRock sun protective shirt was given to parents at new baby visits in recognition of Melanoma Awareness month. “We thought through ways to help spread the SunAWARE message,” Warhaftig said. “We have a really nice audience because we see a lot of newborns and young families who sometimes don’t always know about these things.”
Dr. Warhaftig has also shared our Watch Your Back poster, SunAWARE infoflier, and SunAWARE children’s books with his practice.
